D. Scott McGregor
Founder

-by Carolyn Trinta

D. Scott McGregor, “The Consummate Entrepreneur,“ has molded his lifetime passion of developing businesses and ideas into a science of sheer expertise. Over the past 42 years, Scott has founded over 14 companies, a major airline, some national and one global enterprise, and launched more than 40 patented inventions in two unrelated arenas widely in use today. His impressive track record of launching successful enterprises has earned him international recognition.

Scott's impressive career is highlighted with unparalleled achievements that span almost half a century. Recently, he has focused his business creating expertise into launching Doppelit.com – “to foster, encourage and sustain” other Entrepreneurs that want to succeed. He currently serves as the co-founder and driving force behind this thriving online entity, and in his words, “to let them know that they CAN!”
McGregor made American history in the early 80's when high interest rates and inflation were tearing the country apart. McGregor was then a V.P. in charge of loans and “we were not making any.” He says. “No one was buying or selling.” So he invented the “Adjusted Balance Mortgage”known worldwide today as the Variable Rate Mortgage and sold $72,000,000.00 of the first AAA-rated Mortgage-backed security in American history.

The Federal Home Loan Bank Board named him "The Father of Instrument of The Decade".
By the early 90's, Scott realized the potential for cellular and the need for “real-time billing” so he coined the term and patented the first pre-paid cellular phone and then automated cellular programming.
With patents still pending, a head full of experience, pockets full of empty and a heart full of dreams he fought for two years and nine months and founded Telemac Corp. He raised $23 million in private capital and led Telemac to become one of the largest cellular firmware technology companies in the world. Today, pre-paid cellular phones are offered by most cellular phone service providers.
In the new Millennium Scott and two of his sons invented a biometric/computerized credit card to overcome credit card fraud. Three Entrepreneur sons now run that company with the goal to cancel over $50 Billion in credit card fraud by the end of 2009.

Scott's impressive career is highlighted with unparalleled achievements that span almost half a century. Scott has a B.S. in Chemistry and Business from Brigham Young University and post-graduate work at the University of Utah. Together with his wife, Diane, of 40 years, they have raised seven children.
